it was genuinely baffling how superficial and shallow the writing was, how underwhelming the direction was and how uninteresting the character designs were (I genuinely can't remember a single one). The animation and music were great but overall it basically felt like a painfully average Netflix flick rather than a Watanabe.
I was a TikTok user from 2019-feb 2025, there was a very noticeable shift in the algorithm, especially after Trump's inauguration and his deal that was struck to keep the app available in the US. Despite being European, I was suddenly served a lot of far right content and deleted the app for good. With the incident during the 2025 Romanian elections with Tiktok massively skewing the results towards the far right candidate I have no doubt it's only gotten worse.
It being a positive force was probably true at some point, I've learned a lot and saw perspectives on this app I otherwise would've never seen, but in the state it is now it's proven to be a danger for democracy (real democracy, not the "democracy" that brought us a genocide I want to clarify).
A button combo you can press to boot the controller in Xinput mode would've still been really nice, it's long been a standard feature on much cheaper chinese controllers (e.g. GameSir).
4K 120Hz is a really common TV input and even this is not possible in HDMI 2.0 without 4:2:0 chroma subsampling which is visually lossy especially in desktop usage.

With the trackpads it kinda changes things, I have the og Steam Controller and it polls at 125Hz which is noticeably sluggish on a 240Hz screen. The same might apply here for people using even higher refresh rates (360Hz and 240/480Hz dual mode are getting pretty common), though not nearly to the same extent. Just something to keep in mind.
I went with microswitch buttons for my current controller (cyclone pro) and I honestly regretted it, they feel harder to press and especially hard to spam fast compared to membrane.
