  • Often multiple times per cooking session too.

If you take the last one and throw the package in the trash, you're definitely going to have to take it out of the trash to re-read the instructions at least twice.

  • Don't waste any brain cells reading through this comic. It's AI slop.

  • The Daily Beast is nothing but clickbait articles aimed at people who can't wait for Trump to go away. Take everything their titles suggest with a huge grain of salt.

  • For both of them the design features were dictated by an idiot who had free reign over the project and didn't listen to any of the expert's input.

  • Started with Tumbleweed. Got a little tired with the daily GBs of updates and slow zypper downloading everything piece meal. Settled to Fedora but if I had to switch again and Slowroll came out of beta I'd give it a good look.

  • It might actually be that. The lack of damage to the wall leaves me suspicious

  • All I can think of is Conan The Librarian lifting the guy by the collar and asking "Don't you know the Dewey Decimal system?"

  • When it comes to this sort of thing, the lobbyist's interests have been taking precedence over the People's interests for a long while. And it has become much worse since the Citizen's United ruling. Something has got to give eventually, right?

  • I used a bus in Japan to go to Mount Fuji. Seats were assigned like on a plane and I was sitting next to some Japanese guy. I did my best to respect their customs and remained silent and kept to myself for the two hour ride. The inside of the bus was as silent as a church for the entire drive even though it was full.

On the way back at the end of the day, the bus had dropped a few passengers somewhere and stopped at a station for a toilet break. When we boarded again the driver went to see the passenger beside me and moved him to another seat on the bus to sit in a seat that had been freed up next to another Japanese person. It looks like the passenger went to see the driver to request the seat change during the break.

I've spent the rest of the ride wondering what I had done wrong. It's really a fucked up feeling and it must be horrible to be experiencing this sort of passive aggressive racism on a daily basis in your own home.

  • Trust me bro, money will be worthless soon bro, you don't need to make me give back the obscene amount of money I took for myself by exploiting the system bro

  • Usually I go there looking for something specific and use the search bar.

However, the search function in YouTube has also turned to absolute crap. It only lists a few results and then switches to random shit you didn't ask for.

A lot of the results are also often misleading titles leading to lazy videos that are a slideshow of impertinent pictures with a synthetized voice spewing inaccurate information. AI has made that even worse. The star rating system would have helped identify these crap videos before you click on them.

  • And the video's rating was plainly visible so you could use it to make the decision whether the video was even worth your click.

The shovelware AI slop video channels wouldn't be such a problem today if we still had that.

  • I miss the days when the worst thing the President ever did was to have extramarital sex with a consenting adult woman and got impeached for it.

  • Was he trying to convince people that they won't need money soon so they can let him keep all of it for himself?

  • I agree with what OP said. I would also add that there were some occurrences of absolutely terrible decisions from the designers that made the game extremely frustrating and feeling cheap in some parts.

Communication to the player was absolutely terrible at parts. I remember being often left wondering wtf I was supposed to do and where I was supposed to go next, wasting time wandering around.

There were a few instances as well where the gameplay mechanics were extremely inconcistent which left me feeling cheated and made the game extremely frustrating.

I specifically remember a part relatively early in the game where it looked like I was supposed to sneak past a patrolling security robot. It was shown pretty clearly earlier that these robots are supposed to be bullet proof and that they will attack anything that moves. I sneak past it and encounter a cheap scripted moment where an infected human blocks your escape and forces you back towards the robot. Several deaths later I determine that trying to fight or run past the infected results in the robot detecting you and killing you. So I thought I would make clever use of what I had learned so far and hid from the infected and waited for the robot to take care of it for me. Turns out the robot completely ignored the infected human in contradiction to what I was told by the game, which got me killed again. Many frustrating attempts later I realized that you could just shoot the robot in the head to kill it even though earlier I saw another robot being shot at by security guards with no effect.

There is another part where you have to go to different points in a room with walkways surrounded by water. In it is an invisible monster that will randomly attack and kill you instantly. I died many times in there again, trying to figure out what triggers the monster to attack and insta kill you and how to avoid it. I tried sneaking, I tried running, I tried different paths, the attacks seemed to happen completely randomly. I managed to beat the area by pure dumb luck without ever figuring out what the trick was supposed to be.

Also there are a lot of tired and overused cliches. The vent crawling portions tried really hard to be scary but you realize early on that nothing ever attacks you in them and that they are in fact the safest part of the game. Just hold the W key and wait. And then they keep using that trope again and again to a point where you end up laughing at the game's misguided attempts to scare you.

Those were boneheaded design decisions that made the game feel like a cheap bargain bin game. Which is a shame because it clearly was made with top notch graphics.

  • Aaaw, I'm not in it either.
