  • I use a mixture of methods. I used to take a class several years ago

    Now I tend to listen to Italian radio and podcasts on both the RaiPlay Sound and the Swiss RSI Play apps.

    I do use Duolingo sometimes, but the Italian course is limited to the A2 level, so there’s a clear plateau and I only use it to continue to reinforce the basics. I does kind of help that it’s a bit mindless because it does build up that sill of not thinking about it.

    There’s a number of virtual meetups on meetup.com that I occasionally try out, but I need to be more consistent with.

    I also created an XMPP language exchange group at https://xmpp.link/#italian-language-exchange@chat.disroot.org?join if anyone wants to join.

    Not sure if this group is still active, but I hope this gets some dialogue going!

  • Haven’t been diving too much into the study aspect of it lately because I started grad school last month, and that’s been taking up most of my time.

    I did end up creating an XMPP public group for Italian-English language exchange and learning. It’s at https://xmpp.link/#italian-language-exchange@chat.disroot.org?join if anyone is interested.

  • After I posted this, an app I use on my phone, Screen Zen, released a Mac version of their app. So I'm going to see how that ends up working out. Don't think it's open source, but It might do in the meantime.

  • I hadn't considered using shortcuts. I'll explore what I can do with that. It would be nice to hit one button, have it set a timer, enable both these blocks, and turn on focus mode.
