For anything important, use matrix instead of lemmy DMs.

  • For one thing, it still has the option for an additional fingerprint lock to open the app.Sure, my phone itself is locked anyway, usually.I still like having the second lock built into the app itself for the odd time (however rare) that I hand my unlocked phone to someone.I know they're not snooping into my signal messages while I blink or misclick on a notification or whatever.

    It may not be a big deal for some/most but I like that feature and I can't imagine that's something that needs much upkeep once initially implemented.

    I'm sure it's not the only feature, but it's one I use often.

  • Read the thing, it explains that their "perfect shuffle" isn't every card being perfectly interleaved (yes that'd be deterministic).But rather, at every card, there's roughly 50/50 chance of it being a card from left/right piles being dropped, with an increasing odd for the bigger pile.

    I haven't bothered proving it, but I'm pretty sure a perfect intellect interleave would eventually put the deck back in order, but that's not what the article is discussing.

    I'm talking about the genuinely oblivious and totally useless coworker that somehow won't ever shut up, they've always been there.My problem with AI is it gives these same idiots a firehose of slop to aim at anything and everything.These idiots aren't new, but now they send 2-pager-emails filled with plausible-enough-yet-dangerously-wrong-bullshit that I then need to defuse before some other exec-level idiot swallows it whole and crashes the whole project.
