Just a dude on the internet, looking for content and fun! I love Linux, gaming, writing, reading, music, anime, walks, and occasionally movies too. Chronically ill and anxious too, that makes life quite interesting...At times. Also learning about my anthro shark leanings...Thanks furries for providing me with a safe place to explore this part of me!

  • LOL They didn't just do this as part of a whim, they talked and voted on the matter before implementing the policy. As a German nonprofit they don't act on whims, they first have discussions and then make decisions after talking with the community. LLMs produce slop which people are often careless with, it is good to reign that shit in, the same with crypto because of the impact these two things have on the environment. Personally, that makes Codeberg an ideal place for me to host my future code, it's safer than Github which is a curse on the world now that it's owned by Microsoft. Github has gotten worse over time, and I can't help but wonder when everyone flees that shithole for nicer places like Codeberg.

  • I didn't take this seriously, it's just confusing that this caused people to actually lose their minds. There's no rage to be felt about this as all I feel is absolutely confused this passes for something to feel outrage over. ROFL It's just weird to me that they never saw a woman up close, and knew that peach fuzz is a thing women have on their faces. I did call them names, but, incel does seem fitting in this case. More than ever.

  • Heinous behavior and would make me never use Tesseract because it's been compromised beyond compare. I already filter the ones that don't act in good faith, bot driven, or spread misinformation. That is my right as a user to evaluate an instance and decide if they are worth my time or a domain block to save me the trouble. Learning based on this post that Piefed has done something similar...Makes me glad that I stuck with my Mbin instance (after the demise of lemmynsfw). Like, unhealthy behavior on the part of turbolibs, it's good that I read this post and will be very carefully about the software/fediverse instances I join.

  • I'm still flabbergasted by this ridiculous outrage, like, it was crazy. Calling a bit of natural peach fuzz a beard, crazy work. These incels and weirdos really are twisted ass dudes.

    Humans are mammals, so we're a bit hairy, that's genuinely not out of the ordinary for a regular woman to have a bit of peach fuzz. What isn't normal is making it seem abnormal, these chuds, they're truly tragic in so many ways.

    At first the advice had been basic, warning me of surprise visits, dropped cash, or a medley of little tips. I fed this clever spider a supply of bugs, which I carefully caught from clean woodlands.

    In the end, I should've asked more questions because this zombie apocalypse which broke out in the capital and protecting the person responsible for processing state lottery payments is a big ask!

    I'm not even a good fighter, sneaking around and creating distractions has worked out for us so far...

  • Personally, I understand the appeal of the Steam Machine, it's also cheaper than a standard prebuilt which helps. The fact it can basically be a nice, cute form factor machine is great! There is room for optimization in the future to make it run games and shit better too.

    Personally, I would rather buy a prebuilt over putting a computer together myself because...While I can get a distro installed and use the package manager and command line to set stuff up. I am ever afraid of actually plugging and screwing things in. As my goose on the loose energy is LEGENDARY for causing random fuck-ups. Random sneezes, itches, all manner of odd occurrences will distract me to the point of not being able to reasonably complete the build correctly. I can change thermal paste, and do little things. Nothing as big as making my own computer from a bunch of parts boxes.

    Edit: I still might try and fix my busted BIOS PC anyway, but, first I will get a mini-PC that will be a guarantee that I can play some games that I have been missing out on.

  • Arch is good, but I use Garuda Linux (Arch-based) because it's dangerous to go alone and without batteries.

  • I prefer Fedora over Ubuntu because Canonical's direction has been worrying, not that Fedora's leads have been doing any better in certain areas. Depends on how old the Thinkpad is, a lot of the rolling release distros tend to support a certain range of devices out of the box (not super old, but not also super new hardware). If the Thinkpad is from 2021 or later, you'll probably be okay! There are distros that you can research for better compatibility with older hardware.

    Yeah, going down the rabbit hole of Arch isn't for everyone, learn, and explore, decide your comfort levels before deciding on that (in the further future). I personally use Garuda Linux (which is based on Arch, not as difficult).

  • Well, there is an actual story...The initial boss fights don't feel impossible anymore! You can actually face the first one around level 17 or so. The bosses still feel threatening without being pain sponges that were hard to burn down. It is achievable in the 5:00 timer the player is given to beat them with leveled but not super optimized Pals. There is a lot more structure story wise, naturally because that was one of the things which they were waiting on implementing for 1.0. I noticed that Pal distributions are different, I am encountering Mozzarina a lot sooner as an occasional spawn. I caught a few already for my farming base.

    The base upgrade quests are different as they changed when certain techs are unlocked and learned, making it take a bit longer than normal. At least according to my hazy memory (took me longer to unlock two bases).
