LOL Paraguay, that one is hard to believe, but probably most of the Chinese trade isn't in the official figures... as long as I can remember, Paraguay has been known by its neighbors for being a hub for cheap Chinese knockoff products. It's a huge market, and they have been the local supplier to cheap stores across the whole region, and I know that well because I worked in Ciudad del Este as a fall guy in my teenage years. And the stuff is cheap for being tax-free, and it's tax-free because it's contraband :)

Yeah, if if you expect 1000 people you interviewed at a corner next to a social sciences college or corner next to an evangelical church to represent a country with 200m population and huge cultural regional differences, sure.

Nope, theoretically true but not the least bit feasible in reality. My sample could at best represent my 160k people city, where 80% voted for our local Mussolini, not my 200m people country, which has wide regional differences (and didn't elect the local Mussolini, even though my city and some entire states would have)... imagine India, with almost 1.5b people, and those interviews can't possibly have the necessary geographical and social scope in countries that size with such an insignificantly small sample... what's their methodology? Random pop-ups on social media? You already excluded a huge chunk of the population that doesn't use social media at all, and depending on the social media, you just made an age cut as well, your sample is no longer random but only representing a certain demographic. Was it people standing in a big city interviewing passersby? Time and location will taint the results and, again, the geographical scope is insignificant. Random phone calls? Well-informed people have their numbers on "do-not-disturb" lists (a public service), don't answer random questions from strangers on the phone, etc, etc, so your sample is not random enough anymore because a demographic group won't be represented in it, etc, etc.

34k people in 28 countries? About 1.2k per country? Even if it actually means 34k per country, the sample is so ridiculously small that this statistic accounts for nothing. I can assure you if I interview 1.2k people on the main street of my city in Brazil I will get a very very different number, with the vast majority not even understanding the question.

Probably a really dumb question, but... it's been decades since plenty of sites and programs started blocking you for x amount of time if you enter the wrong password x amount of times... isn't there any security like that against brute-forcing passwords on servers or whatever the brute force runs against?

LLM translation is waaaay more advanced than machine translation.My fear is that they will stop machine translation because it has been so outclassed.My special case is that running it locally is very resource consuming (unlike machine translation).
