    If your site is hosted elsewhere (or on your own server): You'll need to update your server's firewall rules to block all traffic except from Cloudflare's official IP ranges.

    Here's the general approach:

    1. Get Cloudflare's IP Ranges: Cloudflare publishes their official list of IP addresses here: https://www.cloudflare.com/ips/.
    2. Update Your Firewall:
      • If using a hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc.): Look for a "Firewall" or "IP Blocker" section and create an allowlist (whitelist) for all the IPs from the Cloudflare list.
      • If using a server firewall (iptables, UFW, etc.): You'll need to add rules to allow traffic from those IP ranges and then block everything else.
      • If using a security plugin (like Wordfence): You can often add the Cloudflare IPs to an allowlist within the plugin's settings.

    Important: Cloudflare's IPs can change, so you'll need to check their list periodically and update your firewall rules accordingly.

  • For me, it’s the ability to disable downvotes on a community on PieFed. On Reddit, every time a sub gets popular, discussions just get downvoted into oblivion in favor of memes. There are always certain topics you simply can’t discuss without getting buried.

    With this feature, you don’t have to keep splitting a community into smaller and smaller fragments just to have a space where a topic is allowed. Everything gets represented based on how many people actually like the topic, without people who dislike it being able to effectively censor it and prevent others from discussing it. That’s the killer feature for me.
