    Children shouldn’t be a business model, but proper ECE is vital at that age where they learn more than any other time in their life.

    I work for a non-profit, and assuming your $50 is American we would charge about $75 and with that comes along with a team of professionals who have studied how to do all this and can support each other and the children’s development while minimising risks.

  • So many on the Fediverse have this adverse reaction to defederation, but I think we’re reaching the point where instances need to start being more selective and cutting off those who don’t take serious effort to curb this behaviour in their userbase.

  • I’m sorry to hear that happened for you. It’s hard work trying to build up a community, and keep it going when no one else ever does.

    With the loss of quokk.au’s most prolific user a few months ago I’m stuck keeping so many communities alive, with barely a comment in them.

  • Going from Lemmy to PieFed is a huge mess, and as far as I know quokk.au is the only instance to completely swap over from running Lemmy to PF.

    I would say if you're happy with Lemmy to continue using it, v1.0 should be out soon with some pretty cool new features. If you're wanting to try out the PieFed/PyLova experience, be warned that such a move over would lose everything you have to date and may cause syncing issues with same named users/communities that previously existed.

  • Quokk.au and Anarchist.Nexus run it currently. There are a few more who have expressed interest and may one day swap over.

    It's the same as Lemmy/Mbin/Piefed, different instances run different interoperable Threadiverse software. So to use it, you would need to be a member of an instance running it.
