  • And the American sport whose full name is "gridiron football". And the Irish sport whose full name is "gaelic football". And the Australian sport known as "Aussie rules football". And the Irish-Australian sport known as "compromise rules football". And...

  • Well, UEFA has already said they're gonna keep boycotting FIFA tournaments until they receive assurances that this proposal won't be revived.

  • Good ol' geostationary moon.

  • She's not standing up in her seat though as she blocks our view of the seat and is therefore beside it (or in front of it from our perspective). If she's walking beside the desks that implies she's the teacher (or professor if she's teaching adults an advanced subject).

Her eye-rolling in the first panel suggests that she's fed up with whatever nonsense the man is saying. My guess is that he's proving to be a poor student for whatever reason.

In the second panel I assume she's invited him back to her place that evening for some "extra tutoring" and in the third panel he comes to realize (to his disappointment) that she wasn't speaking euphemistically.

My guess is that the difficulty in translating the title is due to some obscure local idiom for "Jucika's extra tutoring gig" or "Jucika's evening class side-hustle".

  • Also without said word colonies there’s nowhere for facist general to overthrow your democracy from.

Has anyone really been far, even as decided, to use even go want to do look more like?

  • Not trying to be a smartass but why not just volunteer for Ukraine?

  • We've had two Rhaenys Targaryens:

    1. Sister-wife of the Conqueror, rider of Meraxes

    2. The Queen that Never Was, rider of Meleys

    Two Rhaena Targaryens:

    1. Sister of Jaehaerys I, rider of Dreamfyre, first Targaryen woman to be rejected for her sex and passed over for her brother, mentioned by Alys as having stayed in Harrenhal

    2. Sister of Baela, rider of Sheepstealer

    Two Baelor Targaryens:

    1. Baelor the Blessed, who had the Great Sept built

    2. Baelor Breakspear, the Hammer

    Two Baelon Targaryens:

    1. Father of Viserys I and Daemon

    2. Son of Viserys I, "the Heir for a Day"

    Two Aerys Targaryens:

    1. Brother of Baelor Breakspear and Maekar, mentioned in passing in AKOTSK

    2. The Mad King

    Two Jaeharys Targaryens:

    1. The Conciliator, rider of Vermithor

    2. Son of Aegon II, beheaded by Blood and Cheese

    Two Viserys Targaryens:

    1. Viserys I, the Peaceful, rider of Balerion (briefly)

    2. Daemon and Rhaenyra's youngest son, last seen heading for Pentos

It's pretty true to life, as historically, children have usually been named after family members.

  • So with the "Daeron the Daring" name drop this episode, the screen franchise now has three Daeron Targaryens:

    1. Daeron the Daring Targaryen
    2. Daeron II Targaryen, AKA Daeron the Good
    3. Daeron the Drunken Targaryen

Obviously it's nowhere near the number of Aegon Targaryens that have been mentioned so far...

    1. Aegon I Targaryen, AKA Aegon the ConqueroR
    2. Aegon II Targaryen, AKA Aegon the Elder
    3. Aegon the Younger Targaryen
    4. Aegon the Unlikely Targaryen AKA Egg
    5. Aegon Targaryen (son of Elia Martell)
    6. Aegon the White Wolf Targaryen AKA Jon Snow

...but it does seem to be the second-most common name in the screen franchise so far. I wonder will we ever hear Daeron the Young Dragon mentioned. It can really only happen in AKOTSK, I suppose.

EDIT: Oh, wait, I forgot that it's actually a tie for second with "Brandon Stark":

    1. Brandon the Builder Stark
    2. Brandon Stark (brother of Ned Stark)
    3. Brandon the Broken Stark
  • Just do what you can, when you can. It's all any of us can do.

  • Whoever said "instead"?

  • That's even more of a reason to focus on buyers rather than sellers.

  • Because I don't trust anybody who tells me things I wanna hear like "you bear no responsibility; it's somebody else's fault".

Oil companies couldn't sell if nobody was buying. The idea that the world can be fixed and I won't need to sacrifice a thing is a little too good to be true. Sure, maybe others will need to make more changes than me, and I'm certainly not gonna let them off the hook, but I'm not gonna let myself off the hook either, and anyone who tells me I can is selling me something.

  • "I'm so old, in history class I just wrote down what I was doing"

"I'm so old, my social security number is 1"

"I'm so old, when I piss, sand comes out"

"I'm so old, both the Democrats and the Republicans have asked me to run in 2028"

  • Most of the factories that manufacture the stuff you use are driven by fossil fuels. The food you eat is most likely grown using fertilizer that was made using natural gas. Unless you live in the forest and eat nuts and berries, you use fossil fuels.

  • "Popular superheroes are popular" isn't a deep revelation. People will still flock to see the next Batman movie, too. Deadpool & Wolverine did gangbusters. So did GOTG3. If Tony Stark hadn't died, an Iron Man 4 right about now would do insane business. And I suspect that if Marvel had successfully rebooted Blade, that movie would do insane business too.

The main thing I'm surprised by is how Marvel has never attempted to make an MCU Daredevil movie, as it seems to me that it'd be an easy sell. He's their most currently popular character that they've never done a movie for (in the MCU at least).

  • Logically, NATO should simply use the drone risk to justify imposing a complete no-fly zone over westernmost Ukraine.

  • I think Heroic basically already does that though

  • >>"Spoiler alert: it's not you"
