  • I have to give spears a shot. Luckily the game's pretty forgiving on respeccing. Especially the skills being entirely non-committal is a really great decision.

  • I forget the exact name but I have the full butcher set with the dual wield weapon. Yeah I struggle because I deal very negligible damage to bosses so each fight takes like 5-10 minutes. And some of the bosses have really wack attacks/combos. But then sometimes I'm stuck on a boss for like 10 tries, beat it, then, without changing any of my gear, the boss in the next mission goes down first try. It's all over the place.I don't think I'm gonna finish the game tho. What's kept me going are the achievements when I beat a really tough boss like Elamein and the Steam achievement thingy says 51.9% of people beat this boss like wtf. But after changing from the greatsword to the dual wield for most of the playthru now there just isn't any of the build crafting I like in these games and the gameplay itself is a bit too samey for me.

  • I’m playing Khazan and it’s pretty good. I’m having trouble with guarding as in every soulslike game but I can get thru bosses after several tries.Difficulty is a mixed bag tho. I seem to bounce between being the steamroller and steamrollee basically every 2 levels.Speaking of levels I kinda like the mission based system. They reuse maps for multiple missions but make them look different so I always have that „ooohhh I’m here“ feeling.

  • honestly idk how much of a diff it makes and I really don't care. I wholeheartedly disagree that it's a massive win if the system catches a few cheaters if the system is designed around "guilty until proven innocent".It's absolutely possible to design a game in a way that makes cheating basically impossible or severely nerfs it without an anti-cheat. And even if you didn't want to do that, the fact that dedicated servers have become a incredibly rare sight also contributes to this issue.It's all for the bottom line. Spend as little time in development as possible and extract as much money from players as possible, at all costs.I just can't sit here and say kernel level anti-cheat is good if it works.

  • Yup, as happened during my most recent linux suicide, dracut just waits infinitely for a device to mount (tho it drops into a emerg shell after like 3 mins or so).

  • Anti cheat will always be bypassed. BF6, requiring secure boot, had cheats during the open beta. And this will always be true due to the nature of how computers work. You would need to have a dedicated computing device that does nothing but play a specific game in order to ensure cheating isn't possible; think tamagochi but for league of legends.

  • idk but there's probably dozens of those. I don't know what Rito are thinking and I kinda don't want to. Intrusive anti cheat doesn't work but those companies don't care. Unfortunately, in the rat race between cheaters and anti cheat devs, actually developing a game solidly such that cheating is basically impossible has not been thought of yet. I also suspect """"""micro"""""" transactions are a major driving factor here.
