  • Nice!

  • I came here to say this.

  • Just imagining pulling it out, opening it, typing in a secure password and answering the phone call with mouse.

  • I agree with this. Might also be nostalgia or might be that the younger generations have not experienced an intuitive ui. I always try to keep an open mind about updates to software, but the flat design stuff has gone too far, a text box is just a line on a solid color background sometimes, how the fuck should anyone know it expects text input unless they have used it before? I'm an experienced software dev I have worked with all kinds of user interfaces on PC's and on industrial equipment, and I find flat design confusing, a bloody cnc controller from the 80's is easier to navigate is some aspects. Rant over. This is just my opinion, consider me an old man jelling at cloud infrastructure or whatever the trending term is.

  • I use fish because it was the default in cachyos and decided to give it a fair shake. I like the built in syntax highlighting and fancy autocomplete but I miss bash scripting and built in commands that replace standard commands can be weird sometimes. I have not tried scripting fish, to lazy to learn yet another scripting language, especially if bash is the (almost) de-facto standard.

  • Well....I did miss that... sorry. But, if the upfront cost matters Prusa is expensive, if the lifetime cost matters its not. That's just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

  • Prusa if you can stomach the price, otherwise no clue. I have a Core One + myself. I'm happy with it.

  • To be fair, my wife has used it about 90% of the time.

  • If I leave left over coffee (especially with milk) in there over night or the weekend it may say hello the next time I open it. For cleaning the cap the dishwasher seems to be the only option, cleaning by hand is very difficult.

  • Might be just my anecdotal experience but that seems to be the case for basically any group of people. Edit: typos

  • Friction welds sound pretty interesting. I'm guessig only on round joints?

  • lol

  • I think python is fine, but that repo is a bit messy.

  • Oh that makes sense, any mineral harder than glass will do probably. Even hardened steel. Maybe a drill bit, a tap, a mill, a metal file?

  • Why AA batteries specifically? I have not tried it but they seem soft.

  • Interesting, why did it happen?

  • Don't quote me, but as far as I know containers can't fix the issue if the host kernel is too old.

  • Thats pretty neat.

  • Why? What did he do?
