  • @HeroHelck It's truly on top in terms of atmosphere, the scale of the artificial, the irrelevance of humans and the absence of nature, what a ride (hike)!

  • @exu Yes the art has so much personality, but I found that some people hate it. I love the titles you mention, in a similar vein there's Takahashi Tsutomu (and Jiro Matsumoto if you can stand his gratuitous violence). And, in a different style of gritty, Atsushi Kaneko is so great.

  • @elfpie Yes, everything is so distant both in time and space that this future becomes a 'why not?' after all that time. And it's a good (re)read today with all the enthusiasm for tech and AI while the environment is collapsing.

  • @dandelion Now it's working everywhere, so it was just a matter of synchronization. Awesome Fediverse!

  • @dandelion(let's see how replying works, that was my first post from Mastodon direct to Lemmy)Yes, the 6 means 'ok' and 5 is 'average'. Relative to other titles of the 90s and even today (you can find recent titles with a score of 1 on the site), the manga avoids the 'rape is sexy' trope common in violent stories or the 'sexual harassment is funny' trope common in comedic situations.

And in the context of the 90s, it was quite something to have such a badass female character who's on top of everything, hence the 6.
