"No, maybe that wasn’t it. Words precede and surpass me, they tempt and alter me, and if I am not careful it will be too late: things will be said without my having said them. Or, at the very least, that wasn’t the only thing. My entanglement comes from how a carpet is made of so many threads that I can’t resign myself to following just one; my ensnarement comes from how one story is made of many stories. And I can’t even tell them all— a more truthful word could from echo to echo cause my highest glaciers to crumble down the precipice." - Clarice Lispector

  • I would like to add the stipulation that intelligently planned uses of electric aircraft that provide unique low impact and cost shorthaul capabilities by charging opportunistically from the grid are a different path and shouldn't be mixed up with fossil fuel aircraft unnecessarily used when trains make more sense.

  • It deeply upsets me because rightwing leaders openly call for violence and the center acts like it is normal and yet those same people are terrified someone like me would say something like that even though it would go against my basic motivating principles if I did?

I am not just saying I care about human rights because it is a vibe or my sports team says it as a motto or something...

  • Trump explicitly looks up to Putin, Bernie Sanders and AOC on the otherhand call him a thug like he is.

Where is the evidence that leftists are fooled by Putin and the "alternative" he is offering?

Go back 30-50 years and there were credible threads you could draw, in 2026 though?

The majority of leftist movements look like Zohran Mahmdani or Gloria Sheinbaum, and they look at Putin and see a thug just the way the rest of us do....

I am not saying violent people who are leftist don't exist or that leftism hasn't been used as a rationale for mass violence in the past but in the context what exactly are we talking about?

As a global movement "socialism" in the last decade has meant citizens organizing to advocate for more humane treatment of one another. Where is the celebration of violence? Of the desire to erase and forget?

The framing is disengenous, place a typical russian patriot next to a "radical leftist" in the US and if they start talking the US leftist is going to tell them to go take a long walk off a short pier, leftism is about valuing human life, not something modern russia does in any sense in its society, and it really doesn't even try to pretend otherwise?

Also russia is not communist? It is an authoritarian state controlled cartel? What is leftist about russia? The chauvanism? The xenophobia? The lack of caring about the consequences of the society you support??

  • Fools, in a regulatorarily frictionless environment this is clearly a Boeing 747.4747474747... etc.. as in .47 repeating decimal as in the oscillation depends on time t with some spring constant ing that results in a Boe-ing at a rate of 747.4747474747...

  • Cowards

  • In terms of proven track record this is probably the most effective USV weapon on earth.

Though I must emphasize a platform like this can be used for so many things (science, lifesaving, locating whales in busy shipping lanes etc...) not just war, which bodes well for Ukraine longterm.

  • The armored vehicle and tank haul is increasing.

  • Idiots, russian culture elicits a gag reflex in me every time I see a demonstration of how deep into bullshitting and not caring about the safety of one another it is.

What an ugly way to live.

I want to individually slap every one of the adults there dumbly staring at a warzone with their bathing suit on, in the middle of a vacation.

I really hate bullshitters and russia seems to be an empire built on them.

  • To be clear, FUCK TRUMP I just demand the conversation be more nuanced than that because Trump really didn't start the fire, which I don't say as a compliment to that human dumpster.

  • I don't think you understand my point.

I linked a very simple electric motor to show that unlike almost any other modern technology the heart of how an electric motor can be explored in a hands on, see for yourself way, combustion engines by comparison are wildly complex and stupendously fiddly.

The example you linked of a transmission is still several steps of complexity above demonstrating the wonderful and mysteriously simple mechanism of an electric motor, especially since the leap to understanding a functioning quadcopter electric motor isn' that far from the device I linked.

The leap to actually understand a working practical combustion engine by comparison is a vertical wall.

    https://www.tytorobotics.com/blogs/articles/how-brushless-motors-work?srsltid=AfmBOoonCorf3UXALkq2kOK01_cF6bcVwhDc4mfBnYnKVLPG2m9Chhaz

    https://www.ligpower.com/blog/working-principle-of-drone-motors.html?srsltid=AfmBOoo69ug-LgyWnjNkuPak27djXM-V0BnWahK9J27USMnw

These links describe practical working brushless electric motors superbly, there is no serious technical barrier to understand here because what makes them compelling is their almost poetic simplicity.
