  • hmmmm, really depends . . . . I know some women who hate men, because their fathers were assholes who abused their mothers. I completely understand why such women would hate men categorically, because they were raised horribly by the first man they encountered in life.

    It really sucks for men like me, who were raised with love, but because of other men who weren't raised right, I'm thrown in the same bucket as the abusers because well, I'm just a man, right?

  • Horrifying, yet, I remember learning about how ethical standards developed because of researchers like this. In a way, if no one ever went that far, would we ever know how evil humans could be, and how to protect against it?

    People that had clear psychological issues, and authority!

  • yeah, those were not the best examples, but it's like, why do people drive drunk? Why do people smoke? Why do people scroll hopelessly into the void hoping to feel okay in super short bursts?

    I just think, I want to live where nobody drunk drives, nobody smokes, nobody doomscrolls . . . . I just hate it.

  • I mean, not always. They mostly did away with bullshit proprietary connectors, did away with their proprietary flash memory cards, and didn't form a walled garden as putrid as that of Apple.

    That being said, nothing is the same anymore. Digital everything will take over, because it's just cheaper to not burn disks.

  • Children lack a fully developed identity of self, and that is normal. It's normal to have questions, to be curious, to learn new ways of looking at the world. We shouldn't tell children to think one way or another, but to teach them of everything, and to be critical of information they receive. In my eyes, all kids are trans, in the sense they are in a transitional state of being, becoming who they might or might not become.

    Let kids be free, without labels and categorizations, but don't forget they haven't yet grown to become who they are just yet. Change is normal.

  • I'm more and more leaning to this solution. I only have a 8GB phone data plan, and refuse to waste any of it on my recreational music listening, nor will I ever see the need for paying for more mobile data.

    My next phone needs a microsd slot, I miss them so much!

  • Doug Ford banned speed cameras. The City of Ottawa posted the raw speed data from before and after the ban. This chart shows the percentage of drivers going 15km/h or more over the posted limit.

  • I agree, it's just that cameras became targets for vandals to destroy, negating all benefits of the camera. And somehow, the law doesn't apply to the vandals, because they belong to the angry car mob, that always gets their way, because the cops are basically just like them, sick of driving, but forced to do so.
