Do you know Truxton?
Do you know Truxton?
In honour of the release of Truxton Extreme, I went poking around on Archive.org again. I came across a few things I didn't know (they are available elsewhere). Maybe you don't know them either...

OG Strategy
Gamest Magazine (issues 28 and 29, January and February 1989) contained a detailed survival strategy for Truxton.
I did OCR and translate via Deepl, the strategy can be summarized as:
- memorize the levels
- save bombs for mid-bosses and bosses
- kill enemies, get points and extends
- sometimes the checkpoints are so awful that you'll have to bomb immediately
The game wasn't released worldwide when this guide was published, Computer and Video Games (a UK mag) started publishing top scores for Truxton in October 1989.
There is also an arcade play-through from 1988 available.
