  • Hmmm Yeah, that's fair enough. I'm not sure all that really applies to my parents that much, but I think the idea is the same. We have more information and we can make more, and perhaps better informed decisions. We have more options and more opportunities for different ways of life. It's OK to choose my own way of life as I wish to live it, and I can thank them for giving me the opportunity to live as I wish.

  • Dashbeam is more for occasional transfers, it seems. You want to send me something right now, you use Dashbeam.

    Syncthing (which is great and I use) is more for background sync between devices. I use it to sync and backup my important documents automagically between my devices.

    So, Syncthing is definitely great and you should use it, if it fits your usecase. I don't know about Dashbeam (in the sense of whether it actually works or not), but the usecase seems a little different.
